Penn State Behrend Scholarship

$5,000 per year to help math students.

Juniors and Seniors at Penn State Behrend enrolled in a math-related program are eligible to apply for the Larson Text Excellence Scholarship. $5,000 will be awarded to at least four students every year. Juniors can receive an additional $5,000 if they maintain a 3.25 grade-point average. Upper-level students in software engineering and computer science programs are also eligible.

The scholarship complements the Larson Texts internship program, where a scholarship recipient can effectively earn $40,000 in tuition reimbursement. Larson Texts is fully committed to seeking qualified future employees from area universities.

Larson Text’s founder, Ron Larson, traces his roots back to Penn State Behrend’s math department as an instructor in the 1970s. Since forming the company after the first publishing of “Calculus”, Larson Texts has published more than 200 textbooks and hundreds of companion digital assets for students and teachers.
